History of Sutter's
In 1967, John Sutter began his career with a
finely-crafted hammer in one hand and piece of silver in the other. His art was
the fine craft of jewelry. John crafted each and every item with care – his
craft was in his heart. With his family at his side, his passion led him to the
back of a small building below the railroad bridge that marks the end of Main
Street in Northampton. This was where John laid for the foundation for the art
of original jewelry that are carried on by James, his youngest son.
Today, James Sutter follows his father’s
footsteps with the same passion, the same tools and the same unwavering
standards. From his first creation, a small silver dragon with piercing eyes,
James pursues the fine art of Jewelry like his father combined with his own
originality.
